- Images and the Web (prepping images, image size and display issues, file types, creating a header, etc.)
- Basic SEO

impatient readers, good text use, editing for space, etc)
- Linking to Pages, Files, and Email
(creating links, linking to pages and other files, email links, link
troubleshooting – replicating pages to create a full site from a single
page)
- Shopping Carts and Monetization (overview of
shopping carts, examples of setup, html cart links, database cart
config and customization issues covered. Googles introduced. Single
purpose for each page.)
- Hosting, Domains, and FTP
(issues regarding selecting hosting, protecting a domain, pointing it
to the hosting service, getting good services, how to upload a site,
standard upload protocols, other hosting features [email, management],
etc)
- Basic Marketing (what works, what doesn't, search
engine registration and indexing, differences between free and paid
marketing, online and offline integration, effective marketing goals,
tracking and assessment, etc)
- Long Term Maintenance
(site updates, browser interpretive changes, technological advances,
new content sources, reregistration issues, expiration issues, speed
changes, etc)
- Expansion and Feature Additions (adding dynamic features, creating new sections, adding affiliate programs, forms, video, audio, Googles, etc)
- Site Security
(passwords, email spam prevention, form security, open source security
issues, SSL, Privacy Policies, Disclaimers, cart security, etc)
This
course takes the student through in a hands-on way. It can be taught
with accompanying lab time, and assignments are listed to encourage the
students to build thier site throughout the course. Lesson materials include the following: - Full PRINTED lesson outlines,
in a high quality, sturdy binder, with page protectors (for easy
substitution). Lessons are divided with heavy duty plastic tabbed
pocket dividers so you can go to the lesson of your choice, and even
add supplmental handouts in the pocket.
